On the birthday of the man of the masses, Jr. NTR, YRF Films made sure the celebration hit a new high. Without wasting a second, they dropped the thrilling teaser of their sixth film in the Spy Universe—WAR 2.
Even though there wasn’t an official announcement at first, fans were already piecing things together thanks to Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s cryptic Instagram posts and replies. The excitement only doubled when YRF themselves reposted it from their official handle.
Among all the blockbusters in YRF’s Spy Universe, the WAR franchise holds a unique craze. That obsession only grew when a sneak peek of WAR 2 appeared in the post-credit scene of Tiger 3. Since then, social media has been buzzing with fan-made posters and wild speculations.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, WAR 2 brings a fresh twist compared to the first installment. The 2019 WAR, directed by Siddharth Anand, featured Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor. But this time, the torch passes to a bigger and more dynamic trio: Jr. NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani. It’s a powerful combination, pulling in fans from both the North and South of India.
In the one-and-a-half-minute teaser, NTR and Hrithik absolutely dominate, while Kiara still manages to grab attention in her few impactful moments. Packed with explosive action, high-stakes style, electrifying swag, and an intense background score, every scene—from Kabir’s iconic walk with wolves to icy battleground fights—offers a cinematic treat.
That said, eagle-eyed viewers might spot a few green screen moments, which could’ve been refined a bit more. It doesn’t take away from the overall experience but is noticeable on close watch.
WAR 2 is slated for release on August 14 in three languages, and it won’t be walking into an empty ring. On the same day, Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is also set to release—setting the stage for a massive box office face-off that could shake up collections on both sides.
So, whether you’re here for the action, the stars, or the cinematic thrill—this August 14 is one date you won’t want to miss.
